I love saying, “YES!” Ask my family.
Do you want to go for a bike ride? Yes.
Do you want to get donuts at midnight? Yes.
Do you want to jump in the pool in the middle of the winter? Yes.
But for every yes we say we have to say no to something else. So I have learned to have an attitude of yes, but to say no to good things so that I can do what’s best.
Here’s the thing, at the end of my life, I want others to know that my heart was to say yes to helping, yes to living, and yes to giving. I don’t want to be the guy that constantly said no because of my fear of the unknown.
I want to say yes to the things that will build God’s Kingdom and no to the things that will stop me from giving my best.
